Are Greyhounds Gray?

Many people assume Greyhounds got their name from their gray color. It is believed that their name came from another source. It may have come from the Latin gradius, referring to its foremost grade of dogs. Many greyhound owners would assert that it is simply because greyhounds are great hounds.
