| Dedication | |
| This edition of our newsletter is dedicated to the memory of Dede Fishbaugh, wife of Jack Fishbaugh, our founder and chairman. Dede was one of those rare people who, when you met her, you felt special for just knowing her. She was the sweetest, gentlest person I have ever met. Dede always seemed to be smiling, as if she knew how special life can be and wanted to share that with you. I feel honored to have known her. She is missed. |

Ch-ch-ch-changes!
|
|
| Many things have happened since the last newsletter in October. First of all, I will be doing the newsletter every other month from now on. Hopefully, this will make for a more interesting and informative letter. Also, we will no longer be getting our dogs from Caliente. We have made arrangements with a group out of Tucson, Arizona, to rescue dogs. The track is a year round track and Lori has a constant supply of dogs that need homes. Hopefully, we can help make a difference. The first shipment of Greyhounds will arrive December 20th. We will be meeting them in Acton and driving them up. We are very excited about this turn of events. We have enough fosters for these six dogs, but if any of you are considering fostering, please let me know. The next shipment will be in January and we will need lots of foster homes to help these wonderful dogs adjust. |
|
| News Bulletin! | |
| In January, we will be sending out new "dog" tags for your Greyhound. These will have their new Greyhound Adoption California ID number and where to call if they are found. If we do not have your current address, please let us know as soon as possible. | |

| Holiday Warning | |
| The Holidays are here and, again, a warning to help keep your Greys and other pets safe. The packages and tree are going to be a temptation to them. Supervision when they are around them would be best to keep them out of trouble. Chocolate is bad. Also, watch them around the eggnog. My parents used to throw an eggnog party with eggnog spiked with bourbon. They mixed it in huge glass mayonnaise jars. One year, one of the jars broke all over the kitchen floor. We had a puppy named Sammy at the time, Before we could get to him, he started lapping up the eggnog. Next thing we knew, we had a very sick and very drunk puppy. It didn't take much. Also, watch all the rich food. We try to keep our Greys out of trouble by giving them special treats that they only get during the Holidays. | |
| Congratulations! | |
| Congratulations to Jack & Jessica Senakarn and their Greys, Dexter and Cora, on the birth of little Sara Elizabeth. Also, congratulations to Barney Mocabee. His proud mom, Andrea, reports that he graduated obedience school on November 10th. With honors I'm sure... |

| New Adoptions | |
| We have lots of new adoptions and several adopters who have adopted their second Greyhound. Jack Fishbaugh has adopted Chelsea to be a companion to his very shy Emma. Chelsea is the total opposite of Emma and both are doing very well together. Jack says it is so much fun to come home and be greeted by two happy little girls with tails wagging. Beth & Ralph Davis and their Greyhound Ana, adopted Cami. Cami will be the fourth Greyhound Beth & Ralph have rescued over the years. Tom & Pat Baxes adopted Polly Anna. Polly is getting along well with their three older dogs. She is very snuggly and Tom is thrilled that she is so loving with him. The Jacksons, Lawan, Andy, Colin, Devi & Olive, have adopted Martini, another member of the "Black Pack." Yes, they now have Olive and Martini. Cute huh? Olive's full name is Olive, the Other Reindeer. Janet Singer finally has her little girl, Dixie. Dixie is a sweet 4 year old and is fitting very well into Janet's home. Janet is one of our fosters and Dixie sets a very good example for the foster Greys. John & Lily Moffly adopted Aria, a very lively little 2 1/2 year old. Ashley & Ryan, their placement reps, report all is going well. Treva Lee & Eric Jacobsen and their children, Thomas and Kara, have adopted Maxwell. He is doing beautifully reports Jill, their placement rep. Anjanette & Kevin O'Driscoll adopted Morocco. Morocco is doing very well reports Delene, their placement rep. Allen & Cynthia Hammond and their sons Austen and Devan have adopted Casey. Casey is doing great and loving his new family.
